  • Coaches

If swimming has shaped your life, becoming a Masters coach is a meaningful way to give back and stay connected to the sport you love. You’ll work with adults of all backgrounds — former competitors, fitness swimmers, and beginners — helping them build skills and confidence. Coaching Masters is about more than writing workouts; it’s about creating a welcoming space where everyone can improve. US Masters Swimming offers certification tracks, workouts, and continuing education to support coaches. Contact our Coaches Chair to learn more.

  • Officials

Becoming Masters-certified is the best way to officiate our meets with confidence. While many officials are certified through other governing bodies, Masters swimming has slight rule differences, and certification ensures you’re ready to apply them correctly. If you’re certified elsewhere, you can work Masters meets — and adding Masters certification is a natural next step. Our LMSC also reimburses meet directors who pay officials, supporting the people who keep our meets running smoothly. • Meet Directors

If you’ve ever thought about hosting a Masters swim meet — whether it’s your first time or you’re looking for more support — you don’t have to do it alone. Our LMSC is here to help with the details, from administration and sanctioning to coordinating officials and managing logistics on deck. We’ll guide you through timelines, requirements, and best practices so you can focus on creating a smooth, welcoming event for swimmers. With the right support and a clear roadmap, running a Masters meet is absolutely within reach. Contact our Competition Chair to learn more.
